Top-down macro, expressed through index options.

Zawadzki Capital is a personal trading and family wealth vehicle. It trades its own account in index options and equities, starting from the macro backdrop and working down to the position.

Macro comes first

Index options respond to the economic backdrop more than to any single company. So every idea starts with growth, inflation, central bank policy, liquidity and the dollar, and narrows from there.

Macro is the strongest focus of the desk, and it sets the order of the work: backdrop, then index, then structure, then size.

The specific models, levels and positions stay private. The order of the work does not.

  1. Global backdrop

Growth, inflation, central bank policy, liquidity and the dollar define the regime the market is in.

  2. Cross-asset confirmation

Rates, currencies, credit, commodities and volatility have to agree before a view carries weight.

  3. Index view

The regime becomes a view on the major indices: direction, timing and how much movement the market is pricing.

  4. Structure

Index options express the view, with the structure chosen for how volatility is priced against it.

  5. Risk and review

Size is set before entry. Each trade is logged and measured against the plan it came from.

Christopher M. Zawadzki

Founder and trader

I started trading at 18 and have worked in markets since: on the sales and trading side, in investment management, and running my own options book. Before finance I worked in manufacturing, handling sales, operations and international business development in London and across the European Economic Area.

Zawadzki Capital is where that experience comes together: a systematic, macro-led approach to index options and equities, traded with my own capital.
